ONLINE SUPPORT
support003005.gif
These web sites are suggested by Karen and Jennifer, the Wilmington Area CHADD coordinators. With the exception of www.chadd.org, they do not reflect official CHADD policy. We have tried to list web sites that do not exist primarily to sell something, which is why this list is a bit brief!
NEW TO ADHD/GENERAL INFORMATION & SUPPORT
www.chadd.org
This is the web site for CHADD National. It is packed full of information. CHADD members can participate in online support groups. CHADD also runs another web site, which is listed next.
www.help4adhd.org
The National Resource Center on AD/HD: A Program of CHADD is the nation's clearinghouse for science-based information about all aspects of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD). It is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The NRC was created to meet the information needs of professionals and the general public.
www.additudemag.com
This is the web site for Additude Magazine. Karen loves this web site. It’s a great place for short, but really helpful articles that always keep a positive focus. There are several blogs on the web site, and we recommend getting on their email list for updates.
www.helpguide.org
This is by a nonprofit organization that offers information on a wide range of mental health topics. We like the tone, the broad range of information, and amount of links this web site offers.
PARENTING WEBSITES
www.celebratecalm.com
Jennifer and Karen both love Kirk Martin’s work, and this is his web site. Martin expresses simple yet powerful concepts in a way we can easily relate to. His electronic newsletter is consistently excellent, and we encourage you to get on the mailing list. There is a lot of encouragement to buy CD’s, which are excellent, but you are under no obligation to buy anything.
ADULT ADHD WEBSITES
www.add.org
This is the web site for the The Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA.) The mission of ADDA is to provide information, resources and networking to adults with AD/HD and to the professionals who work with. This web site if packed full of information for adults with AD/HD, and membership offers access to many benefits.
www.adhdmarriage.com
This is one of Dr.Ned Hallowel’s web sites. He is a leading voice for the strength-based perspective on AD/HD, and has written many books. This web site is primarily a blog site, with many active topics on being married with AD/HD.

These blog sites are both by Gina Pera, an award winning author and very active CHADD volunteer. They are both about how AD/HD affects relationships. We find that the “partner” site contains more information and recommend looking at the Partner Survey that Pera developed when she wrote her recent book, Is It You, Me, or Adult AD/HD?

WOMEN WITH ADHD
www.momswithadd.com
This is a brand new web site by an experienced ADHD coach who is herself a mom with ADHD raising kids with ADHD. She seems to know what she’s talking about! You can post on her blog, read a series of articles, and shop for ADHD friendly products.
www.womenwithadd.com
This is a social networking site for women with AD/HD that was started by the same AD/HD coach mentioned in the above listing. Women can sign up and post on a wide range of topics.
RESEARCH
www.helpforadd.com
If you are interested in following the scientific research on AD/HD, this is an excellent way to do it. Dr. Rabiner, a head researcher at Duke summarizes research so that we can understand it. In addition, he does a great job of explaining how well the research is conducted. Sign up for his Attention Update electronic newsletter.
